The pathway through this garden, which will lead you to the Forest Farm, was started in May, 2016. The steps were completed in early 2017, but need some adjustment as we watch how the water tracks and affects one’s footing. Look for additional drainage features to be installed to prevent future trail washouts from major rain events. It’s a work in progress, but we are making slow and steady progress with the native planting. Many thanks to the Project Challenge kids for their tireless help in mulching and planting !
The plants installed last year are beginning to demonstrate a woodland garden. Keep watch as additional plants are added, and summer and fall choices begin to bloom. In the upcoming years as the native shrubs, trees, ferns, and wildflowers grow and spread this will be a special garden – especially in the spring and during hot summer days.
