The gardens are coming alive after a long winters dormancy. Our many native plants are already busy supporting pollinators and birds. So, now is a good time to start walking through the gardens to take in the freshness of spring.
If you are looking for a good chance to get involved in the gardens, make some friends, and learn about land stewardship and native plants, our next scheduled community workday is Saturday April 18th (Note: Our Workday always happen the 3rd Saturday of every month). See workday logistics and more details below.
Our upcoming presentations and garden volunteer events list below as follows.

Upcoming Activities Scheduled:
- Saturday, April 18th at 9:30am will be our monthly 3rd Saturday Community Workday and “”garden party“. We will be joined by the Teens of Madison County and Project Challenge. We are continuing to work on the Medicinal Garden, organize our shed and storage areas, and also planting a large Black Gum tree (NOTE: This tree planting will be happening at about 10am as part of our Earth Day celebration). Then, at noon we will have lots of finger foods and refreshment for all our volunteers. We hope you can join our many volunteers for this Saturday event — they are always fun and family friendly.
- Thursday, April 30th at 5:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Marshall Library we are hosting a free not to be missed presentation by Christopher Mello. Christopher is a locally recognized naturalist and leader of our Native Gardens Educational Programming. His presentation will be on “Attracting (or Discouraging) Wildlife and Pollinators”. This will be a co-sponsored event with the Rotary Club of Madison County. Watch is webpage space for a poster relating to this event.

Thanks for your ongoing interest and support for the native gardens. We hope you will come out to walk through and enjoy the native gardens. And, that you will consider one or more of our upcoming structured events to be worthy of your time and will join us for service and fun!
