
Our normal 3rd Saturday Workday schedule has started for 2026 as winter is winding down and maintenance needs and projects in the Gardens are resuming. Our next scheduled Saturday workday and garden party will be on March 21st starting at 9:30am and the garden party beginning at noon. Over the winter our functional committees and teams have continued to do the behind the scenes work of coordinating future programs, developing our 2026 budget, and applying for a number of grants. The trail creation efforts in the Woodland Shade garden will continue with winter meetings to plan and cost out a multi-purpose deck — that feature will be started next spring, if we get a grant.

Upcoming Activities Scheduled:
- Monday, March 2nd at 3:30pm we will have youth from the Future Farmers of America onsite for some service and a short tour. Come join us if you can.
- Wednesday, March 11th at 9:30am the FBRA Boys will be onsite for service and tour. We always have a need for supervisors for these energetic youth service days…
- Saturday, March 21st at 9:30am will be our monthly 3rd Saturday Workday and garden parties. We will be joined by the Teens of Madison County and Project Challenge. We also are hosting the NC Native Plant Society on this workday. They will be providing labor and expertise on invasive plant control onsite. Hoping you can join us for the fun. - Wednesday, March 25th at 9:30am the FBRA Boys will be onsite for service and tour. Come join us for some quality time in the gardens with some great youth…
- Thursday, March 26th at 5:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Mars Hill Library (NOTE: DUE TO ROOM CONFLICTS, IT WILL NOT BE AT THE MARSHALL LIBRARY) we are hosting a free presentation by Eric Rooney, Founder of Regeneration Earth and a recognized land steward, gardener, and end-of-life care specialist. Eric will tell us about “Creating an Edible Garden from Seed”. This will be a co-sponsored event with the Rotary Club of Madison County. See the poster above for details…
- Saturday, April 18th at 9:30am will be our monthly 3rd Saturday Workday and garden party. We will be joined by the Teens of Madison County and Project Challenge. I hope you can join us as these event are always fun. We will provide more details on this website as that date approaches.
- Thursday, April 30th at 5:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Library we are hosting a free presentation by Christopher Mello, a locally recognized naturalist and leader of our Native Gardens Educational Programming. Christopher presents on “Attracting (or Discouraging) Wildlife and Pollinators”. This will be a co-sponsored event with the Rotary Club of Madison County. Watch is webpage space for more details.
