The raised vegetable beds located in the fenced playground have been cleaned up and planted this spring by Beth Detwiler’s Library Kith & Kin Children to be a “Soup Garden”. This raised bed was originally envisioned and constructed to be used as a “Pizza Garden” and was intended to encourage children to learn about sustainable gardening.

We are very pleased that Beth is using a Kith and Kin garden themed program, based on a children’s book and video by Lois Ehlert, to grow vegetable for soup in the raised beds.
